This is a song written by Italian artist Graziano Romani, whom I had the pleasure of doing some shows with in Italy in 2006. "The Most Crucial Enemy" was recorded one day during the summer of 2008 in my home with Mark Johnson, long time friend and occasional collaborator, and was part of a compilation that was released to Graziano's fan club. I played my late Aunt's piano (she had died a month earlier, and we recorded in her old room. This had been the last song she had heard me play.), and lead and slide guitar. Mark played acoustic guitar, bass, and drums. We did the backing vocals together, and he engineered and mixed. It was very funny. My husband and I sat outside the room while he mixed, and when he was done, he opened the door and said to us, "It's a boy!"
